- Canvas gives users a lot of control over how they are notified of course updates. You can adjust where and how frequently you receive notifications. To manage your notifications, navigate to Account in the Global Navigation menu (the purple menu on the far left-hand side). Select Notification Preferences to manage them. - If you want to receive notifications for your own posted announcements and discussion forum entries, as you did in Cruiser, you will need to select those options in the list (it is not a default).

How can I add additional methods of contact to my Canvas account?

- By default, notifications are sent to your Widener email address. To add additional contact methods, click on Account in the Global Navigation menu (which is the purple menu on the far left-hand side). Navigate to Settings, and then click +Email Address to add an additional email address or +Contact method to add a cell number for SMS text notifications. Canvas can be configured with multiple third-party web services, including Google Drive, Skype, Twitter, LinkedIn. You can integrate these web services from your user Settings page. What is the Dashboard in Canvas?
The Dashboard is your landing page in Canvas, and it displays course cards for all your favorite courses. The Dashboard also contains global announcements from your institution, a global activity stream that shows recent activity in your courses, and a sidebar. The Dashboard will be the first thing you see when you log in to Canvas, but you can always navigate back to the Dashboard by clicking Dashboard in the Global Navigation Menu. Why isn’t my Canvas course listed on my Dashboard?

- Your course favorites will display on your Dashboard. To set your course favorites, click on Courses in the Global Navigation Menu, then click on All Courses. Next, click the star next to the course that you would like to see in your Dashboard. How do I record attendance in Canvas?

How do I create an assignment in Canvas?

Can I assign different due dates and times within an assignment?

How do I create a Turnitin assignment in Canvas?
Turnitin is NOT the default assignment submission type in Canvas. To create a Turnitin assignment, click on Assignments in the course menu and click on +Assignment (at the top of the page). In the Submission Type drop-down menu, choose External Tool. Type Turnitin in the search field and click Find.
